The current USB 2.0 technology offers 480 mbps of transfer speed. USB 3.0 is expected to offer 4.8 gbps of transfer speed.
It is a fact that the speed of an electron can approach, but never reach the speed of light. So it is possible in the future in order to achieve the speed of light, computers will also be using fiber optics.

I just watch
My computer doesn't have any anti-virus installed. No Pc-Cillin, McCafee, NOD32, etc... I am only using a Process Guard.
Using a process guard :
- I choose who is going to run and use resources
- I choose who is going to connect to the internet
- I choose who is authorized to modify my registry
- I choose who is allowed to access my machine
- I can log all process alerts, etc...
- I can block annoying ads and pop-ups
- I can monitor IM client (ym, msn, gaim) activity
